No... But it's terribly rude if you ask me. If you don't think you're special even if other people tell you that you are, it's as if you don't believe them, as if you are calling them liars or saying that their opinions don't matter to you. That they aren't important. Or that they aren't good enough to know when they meet someone really special and when they are just in front of someone average.
