W-Wha? Hey, why is suddenly so dark?
[Yoh blinks as he stares into the darkness for a moment. Just a minute ago he had been talking with Ren and then... Then he finds himself there, in a small space, his body twisting and mostly uncomfortable due the position. Definitively he didn't get himself there on his own. He shifts, trying to get more comfortable, specially his back which is aching like crazy. In the process he kicks the walls of the tight space where he is and brushes against something that seems to feel like clothes.]
What is this, a wardrobe? Oi, Amidamaru?! Can you hear me?!
[He tries calling for his friend, his companion, and there's almost an immediate response. But something is off.]
Huh? Amidamaru? I can't...
[Maybe someone would like to check who is locked in their wardrobe some time soon?]
[Hours later and after getting a crash Luceti course, Yoh decides to play with the journal and get the hang of it. The feed turns on to his carefree laugher, even if he has many reasons to worry and be down, he's not going to let it be shown easily.]
Hehehe, look at this! This is quite handy, it reminds me of the Oracle Bell. I wonder if the bells have this feature too? I should ask Silva when I have the chance- Ah, it's on!
Hey! My name's Yoh Asakura, I arrived here today, nice to meet you! I have been told that there's a smithy in the village and that it's were weapons tend to show up. Does anyone know if there has been a new couple of swords there lately? They are very important to me so I would like to get them back as soon as possible.
And... No, nothing else, never mind that. Just wanted to ask about the swords. Thanks!
[He wanted to ask if there was anyone who recognized him but if his friends are here they will notice him just with what he had said so far anyway. And despite the way Luceti seems to be he's not going to just go and start talking about shamans without knowing a bit more and getting a better feeling of the village. Specially not when he himself isn't sure if he's a shaman anymore, what with how he can't even see or hear Amidamaru. At least he knows his friend is there, he can feel it in his heart and sense his emotions but... That's all. Yes, definitively not going to just go and talk about spirits until he has a better hold of his ground.]
[Anyway even if he has asked through the journals, Yoh's not up to just sit and wait so he will go and check the smithy himself. After all he asked about swords that had recently appeared but who knows, maybe they have been around longer than him with how crazy this place seems to be. And so Yoh will be off to explore the village, if he's going to be stuck here for God knows how long he may as well get used to it and know where everything is.
He will make stops at the clothing store and the item store besides the smithy. Eventually finding his way to spend two hours just staring at the landscape while standing on a bridge. He isn't someone to call attention on himself, just a normal dude, specially after he gets proper clothes. But he will be sure to pay attention all around him, others may have no reason to come and say hi, but he may decide he has reasons to do that to them.]

The memories are part of the reason why some people don't really want to leave, actually. Among...other reasons. It's really not a terrible place, and everything is pretty cozy except for the random experiments that are run and this barrier that no one's broken yet.
Who knows? Maybe some of your friends are here too.
no subject
Really? That's awesome! I would have been very worried about missing anything important while I was here. I didn't set a video to record any of my favorite programs.
[He laughs. It's not entirely a lie, he didn't set a video to record anything and he would have been very worried, but he would have pushed away those thoughts and focus on his own pinch. He doesn't need to say that though. Just as he doesn't need to talk about how important matters were back home, it would require getting in unnecessary explanations anyway.
He's not sure he likes the idea of losing memories, even if he doesn't have anything important to remember yet. But if that's the way this place works... It's the way it works. He doesn't like the idea of dying one day but that's how things are, there's no point in getting upset or complain.]
So this is a place where no one would like to be for starters but it's not so terrible to have everyone wanting to leave every single day, is that so?
[Some of his friends, it's strange to think that but from what Lupin said Yoh knows it's possible. The problem would be from when they were from, specially in some cases, like Faust or Ren for example. Not because it would give him problems but because they would still be troubled about things that the ones he just was with had gotten over already. Amidamaru is there, though, he can feel him even if he can't see him, specially when the feeling intensifies at Lupin's words, as if the samurai was telling him that indeed he was there. Yoh smiles, not worried at all.]
Yeah, maybe they are or maybe they will come as well later on. It's okay either way, everything will work out.
[His infamous catchphrase, it's more directed to Amidamaru than to Lupin though but it doesn't matter. Yoh shows no sign of being talking to anyone else after all.]

People's reactions to this place depends on who they are, how they think, and what they do. Some people don't mind it here. Other's find this place to be a static purgatory. It varies, honestly.
But that's a good mindset. "Everything will work out." You might just avoid some of the problems a lot of people have because of that!
no subject
I wonder in which group will I fall then, I guess the "don't mind it here". It's not as if I minded it back home, here or there, there are bad things in both places anyway. So long as I can have a mostly peaceful life I'll be fine.
[He laughs again.]
Well, it's true after all. Nothing lasts forever, for good or bad. If I keep believing and work for it things will be fine sooner or later. There's no point in over-stressing in wanting it to happen as soon as possible. The sun won't come out earlier even if you wake up at three in the morning everyday!

...You should be able to get situated just fine!

[It's basically the core of humans' nature, scared of what's different and what they don't know, resistant to changes they don't have control over. They are perfectly fine with destroying forests or fields, changing them to cities, they are fine with changing their horses with machines that fill the air with toxic smoke. But if an earthquake changes the landscape? Or if they get sit from breathing all that toxic smoke because humans aren't meant to breath that smoke and survive? They get terrified over their lack of power and react angrily if they find even the smallest excuse of a target to blame to. It's rather annoying but it's unfair to blame them for what's in their nature as well.]
Ahahaha, if someone who has been here for a while already says that I suppose it will be true! Can I ask just one more question? How much does the inn here cost and around how much do the rents raise to? Ah, if you know of any place that is hiring that would be good as well, I didn't bring my wallet with those pants.
[He laughs again. Hey, just because this is basically a prison doesn't mean there's no money. He wouldn't be surprised to see whoever runs the place also taking care of stores and trying to send souvenirs just like the Patch did.]

[To many, such a world would be paradies. Lupin was not among them. Life in Luceti was too quiet, too peaceful for his tastes. When there were things in the world that needed doing, chaos to cause, brilliant but corrupt men to subvert, Lupin finds a way to do them and smile.]
That is a good point you have there. People in general don't like change, but sometimes this place just doesn't change often enough for others.
...You don't need to worry about rent or housing either. Odds are you'll find a vacated room somewhere to make yours, though I do recommend the community houses here. They're basically apartment buildings, or bording houses. You get to know the people in the building decently enough too, if you're the socializing type.

[It's a relief to know he won't have to worry about money after all, but not terribly big. There always has to be some type of currency, even if it's just by trade, nature itself works on it, you get equal amount of what you give, nothing more, nothing less. No currency is the same as saying that you can get all you want without giving anything, that's... Not a good thing to have. It makes things lose worth, not just material possessions, which sometimes are given more worth than what they really should have, but to everything else.
A world without death, without any type of currency and without change. It doesn't sound different from how he expects death to be.]
Lack of change is bad, nature itself is composed by change. We need change to survive, it must be hard for those used to change.
[Or rather those used to create change themselves. Knowing humans that's probably the best description.
Yoh smiles as Lupin comments on the housing issue. Apartment buildings... That's not bad but he's not sure he likes the idea much. He's not against being social but he has experiences having a hard time about it with humans, besides there are probably lots and lots of stairs, after a long day of training he won't want to climb them all. Maybe he should check if he can find a house for himself, he would be more comfortable knowing that there's not someone else besides the wall of his room who may listen to him "talk alone". Because even if he can't communicate normally with Amidamaru the samurai can listen to him and he will certainly talk like normal when alone.]
That sounds like fun, I'll check on it. But first I think I want to check this place as a whole. Since there's no currency I guess I can just go and get any clothes I want from the store? Assuming there are stores at all.

Better hope your hobbies keep you entertained. Aside from the ocassional experiment, your hobbies are about all you're gonna have around here.
[Which, for men who were usually too busy to enjoy any hobbies, meant that they were doomed for boredom. Lupin knew for a fact that he isn't the only one who's taken to blowing up inanimate objects to keep himself amused. But, even explosions can only go so far.
A wry grin curls his lips.] Let's hope that your hobbies include making change in some way. It'll be fun for everyone.

My stuff? Anything that was mine back home or just things I was carrying before coming here? Is there a limit like "no dangerous things" or something?
[He has four things in his mind already that he will head for to recover in a record time if it's possible. His swords, Matamune's necklace and his headphones. Clothes, home and whatever will come after that.]
Ah, I'm sure I won't have problems then. My hobbies are pretty easy to perform even in a place like this I'm sure of it.
[Listening to music all day and just admire nature. Yeah, he won't have problems with that. Though even if Anna isn't around he thinks he may need to train anyway, if only because the reasons why he can't see and talk to Amidamaru properly may be fixed if he trains enough.]
I'm afraid I'm not much of a change person. I don't mind change but I don't think anyone would be interested in what change I could bring along.
no subject
...if you do have dangerous belongings, please do everyone a favor and don't destroy something big. A lot of people will be unhappy about that. Otherwise, if you hobbies are unobtrusive, people shouldn't mind.
[There were times when he wished he could change things more easily though.]
no subject
Yoh laughs, hiding his own thoughts.]
That won't be a problem. Destroying something big sounds like it takes a lot of work and it won't be worth it if many people will be unhappy about it. I just arrived, it won't do if I make everyone hate me already.
[He won't confirm neither deny information regarding having dangerous belongings. At least for now.]
I think no one will mind my presence here then, I'm sure I don't have obtrusive hobbies. Unless I go to a reserved place to watch the stars, for example. I hope that if there are places like that they will be properly labeled in case I ever want to do that!
no subject
[He chuckles at this. A nice kid come in this time, hopefully a ploy by the Malnosso to mitigate the strange ones that seemed to be pouring in.]
...You should be fine though, and people here are nice enough to help if you have more questions. Seems like you know what you're doing all ready, though!
no subject
Ahahaha, you think so? I'm mostly going just by instinct, maybe I'm a natural for being pulled into other worlds. Anyway, thank you very much for your help, Lupin. I'm sorry I had you go through a crash course of this place, though, I'm sure you're by now tired of saying those things over and over.
[If new people arriving are as common as Lupin said it was a possibility, being tired of always repeating the same and seeing the same reactions and all. Yoh chuckles a bit, scratching his head sheepishly.]
Well, I don't want to intrude any further nor abuse your hospitality. If you wouldn't mind to tell me which direction the stores are from this building, I'll leave you to go back to your own business.
no subject
It's no intrusion, honestly. Like I said, I had a random girl just reading on my sofa the other day. But, I understand that you want to get your clothes and other effects.
The shops are down by the plaza. Basically, you leave the building and head north--all the shops will be close to the fountain when you find it.
It's really hard to miss, so you shouldn't have any problem.
no subject
[Yoh nods, confidently. It would be easier if he could use Amidamaru as a guide, maybe he could but he doesn't want to test it. He already has problems with sensing him and everything else, if they separate too much things may get specially ugly.]
All right, I think I'm set to check this place by myself, now. Thanks you tons for your help, really. And I know I just arrived and all but if you ever need anything I could always try to help, it's the least I can do.
